Richard Hell
became famous in the mid-Seventies as an originator of the Punk movement.
Founder and lead singer of the seminal punk-rock band, Richard
Hell and the Voidoids, his album "Blank
Generation" set the tone for the sound and look of the punk
scene. His charismatic performance in Susan
Seidelman's breakthrough hit SMITHEREENS was the first in
a long line of roles in New York underground films. He is
known as a poet and performer; and his recent novel "Go Now" (Simon
& Schuster) has been hailed as "the real rock'n'roll
literary masterpiece".
